Belva Davis
Television Journalist
Belva Davis is a pioneering California television journalist. She has covered politics, urban affairs and community affairs in the San Francisco Bay Area for four decades. Davis currently hosts the awarding winning current affairs program "This Week in Northern California,” which airs on KQED and other Northern California Public Television stations.
She is a lifelong volunteer and serves on the board of the Museum of the African Diaspora, Blue Shield of California Foundation, the Institute on Aging and the San Francisco War Memorial Performing Arts Center.
Recently, the Leon and Sylvia Panetta Institute on Public Policy honored Belva Davis along with CNN’s Judy Woodruff, and Washington Post Columnist David Broder for their “Lives of Public Service.” In 2007, she was also inducted into the Northern California Radio Hall of Fame.
Davis has won seven Northern California Emmy's for outstanding reporting and Lifetime Achievement awards from the Northern California Television Academy, the International Women's Media Foundation, and the National Association of Black Journalists.
