Domestic Violence Shelter Bill Approved

On a 49-27 vote, the State Assembly approved Senate Bill 662 to help increase funding for domestic violence shelters. SB 662, authored by Senator Leland Yee (D-San Francisco) would allow counties to increase marriage license fees by up to $10 to provide an additional $2.5 million to $5 million annually for critical shelter services.
