Special Assistant to the President and CEO
Emily Cooper serves as special assistant to the Foundation’s President and CEO. In this role, she supports internal operations and interfaces with the Foundation’s key collaborators on special projects. Prior to joining the Foundation, Ms. Cooper supported the executive recruiting department of Blue Shield of California and the talent acquisition team at University of California, Office of the President.
Ms. Cooper grew up in Gig Harbor, Washington in the rainy Pacific Northwest. She attended Willamette University in Salem, Oregon where received her bachelors of arts in art history and attempted a minor in art studio despite her extreme lack of artistic ability. During her sophomore year, she studied abroad with Semester at Sea and directed the ship’s first Take Back the Night. Ms. Cooper moved to the Bay Area in 2007 and loves that even after nearly a decade of exploring, she hasn’t run out of things to discover.Emily.Puterbaugh@blueshieldcafoundation.org
