Brittany Imwalle

Chief Operating Officer

Brittany Imwalle serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Blue Shield of California Foundation. In this role, she leads a diverse and complex range of high-priority projects, as well as overseeing finance, grants administration and public affairs activities.

Previously, Ms. Imwalle was director of consulting services for The Permanente Medical Group, where she led strategic-transformation and performance-improvement initiatives in medical centers across Northern California. More recently, she founded an independent consulting practice, where she advised nonprofits and foundations on topics related to organizational advancement.
Ms. Imwalle formerly served as Blue Shield of California Foundation’s director of finance and operations, playing a key role in initial strategy and organizational design efforts, while providing financial oversight for the foundation.  Early in her career, Ms. Imwalle supported healthcare-industry clients as an associate at Booz Allen Hamilton, and was a staff consultant for The Permanente Medical Group. 

In addition to her professional role, Ms. Imwalle feeds her passion for community-building by serving on the Board of Directors for Leadership High School, where she is vice-chair.

Ms. Imwalle earned her master’s in business administration from Columbia University, and her bachelor’s degree in human biology from Stanford University.
