Adam  Sanders

Adam Sanders brings a variety of nonprofit experience to his position as Grants Administrator at Blue Shield of California Foundation. In his role, Mr. Sanders is responsible for being a main point of contact internally and externally for grant inquiries, grant contracts, amendments and payment processing.  He is also responsible for maintaining the Foundation's grantmaking database, assisting with program related grantmaking, and monitoring all grants to ensure adherence to appropriate Foundation policies and procedures.

Before joining the Foundation, Mr. Sanders worked at UCSF AIDS Health Project, serving the development department.  There, he assisted the development and executive assistants in managing the grants calendar, generating funding requests for foundations, and planning fundraising and special events for the agency.

While in college, Mr. Sanders developed a sense of advocacy and volunteerism in health and cultural organizations. He volunteered with AIDS Volunteers of Cincinnati and was a board member for his college's local AIESEC chapter, the world's largest student-run organization promoting understanding, diversity and cultural awareness through student travel and employment opportunities overseas.

Mr. Sanders received his bachelor's of science degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing and a minor in Entrepreneurship from the Farmer School of Business at Miami University in Oxford Ohio. He is also a California state certified HIV/AIDS test counselor and an active member of the Grants Managers Network.
