Julie Apana joins the Foundation after many years working in the private sector in executive-level administrative and management positions, including operations manager and vice president of human resources. Prior to joining Blue Shield of California Foundation, Ms. Apana was office manager /senior administrative assistant at The California Endowment, providing administrative support to senior-level program officers.
Among her many interests and activities, Ms. Apana is a volunteer/member of a not-for-profit Hawaiian cultural center and has held various positions including fund-raising committee chair, lighting/stage production manager, and marketing/media assistant. She currently studies the art of hula and Hawaiian language as an active member of the cultural center.
