Senior Communications Program Manager

Marite Espinoza (she/her) is a senior communications program manager at Blue Shield of California Foundation. Marite is the project manager for the communications and public affairs team and has worked on special projects such as spearheading the Foundation’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, and communications and domestic violence awareness campaigns such as LetsEndDV.org.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Marite worked at University of California, San Francisco, where she was part of the Care Ecosystem, a multidisciplinary research team dedicated to enabling health systems and clinics to provide dementia-capable care to people experiencing dementia and their caregivers. Marite led outreach to Spanish-speaking participants and various community clinics in San Francisco.

Marite has a bachelor’s in psychology and ethnic studies from San Jose State University. In her free time she enjoys trying new recipes and exploring the Bay Area with her husband, son, and hyper border collie dog, Lola.
